Once again, Lynn got her act together and managed to persuade
a few volunteers to head South for some gardening and decorating, inspired
by a return visit to the UK of our American branch, Dave, Pippa and Emily.
Those of you who couldn't make it due to holidays, it was a great weekend
apart from some horrible traffic problems for the Northern brigade. Welcome
to newcomers Cyndi and Hannah all the way from the USA, on holiday and
taking the opportunity to visit Dave and Pippa in their natural habitat,
they may yet come to regret it...
The return of the Wheeler family may not be linked to the
increase in quotes over the weekend, but it's one heck of a coincidence
that people seemed to step out of their cars and immediately start putting
feet firmly into mouths, the quotebook as ever was near at hand to capture
these glorious moments.
We don't use that word 'Tramp' for anything other than...
oh... err... - CPF

Drinks on the patio whilst Pippa went out to get the
fish and chips for tea (dinner to you Southerners). |
 |
The back garden makes a great campsite, watch out for
that pond, it gets a lot of attention this weekend. |
| For reasons unknown, Lynn and Karen volunteered to dig
out the pond. We only decided to renovate it after too many beers
the previous night, it might not have been the best ever decision
made by CAMrPA... |
 |
John just happened to have
a chainsaw in the car boot, a quick sharpening session and he'll be
ready to help with the pond. |
 |
 |
Pippa suggests that Dave P might be well advised to
get away from John and the tree. |
 |
It may not be the best health and safety example ever,
but John certainly gave the tree a shock |
| Dave P and John with the last of the tree. It took a
lot of favours to get that sand delivered before the builders merchant
closed. |
 |
After counting the number of
limbs still attached to the tree felling brigade, Anna calmly returns
to her cup of coffee. |

Karen leading Bethan astray. Or is it the other way
around? |
 |
The workers take a break for lunch. |
| That sand was 2 tonnes of pond lining to most of us,
to Bethan and Emily it was a great chance to make a sandcastle in
the wheelie bin. |
 |
When the rains came, the pond
liners union took a break. It didn't stop so we went to get on with
it anyway, the rain stopped shortly after we finished... |

Sunday morning and Neil arrives just in time for breakfast. |
|
After John and Pete had fixed the ride-on lawn mower,
Patrick and Evan just had to test drive it. |
| Overnight, the pond had retained it's water, so we topped
it up until it overflowed just a little bit. |
 |
Neil avoids strenuous activity
by offering helpful tips and guidance. If 'up a bit' and 'that'll
do' can be called helpful |
 |
 |
We're not sure if Dave and Anna had the wheelie bin
in the tent with them, or if Dave was just intending to put the camping
gear straight into the bin. |
|
When it came to time to put the capping stones around
the pond, it suddenly seemed to be Emily's turn to do some work. |
| Pond builders admire their handiwork whilst Emily gets
slowly colder. |
 |
Pippa gives Dave P instructions on where to put 'Little
Willy'. Maybe she was just saying 'get that stomach under cover'? |
 |
 |
Little Willy is finally restored to his rightful place. |
 |
Good to see Dave and Pippa again after all of this time. |
